The Scotlandville Hornets did just enough to beat a tough Central Wildcats team 16-8.
The game wasn't decided until late in the 4th quarter. Jonathan Swift missed Josiah Rankins on a fourth and goal from the Scotlandville 6 yard line to seal the game.
The Hornets (5-0, 2-0) used a long touchdown pass and a special teams blocked punt to score most of their points. Marlon Gunn Jr. led the Hornets with 14 carries for 94, including a 74 yard run to set up a field goal. Scotlandvile quarterback C’Zavian Teasett completed 7/ 16 passes for 95 yards and two third-quarter TDs.
Both teams were limited on offense because of a whopping 42 penalties throughout the game.

A methodical offensive performance by Destrehan was only marred by a couple of dropped passes. But it was defense that got it done for the Wildcats over Thibodaux 33-7.
Denham Springs defeated Livingston Parrish rival Walker 26-21 to get their first win of the season.
The Yellow Jackets (1-7) played a sharp, clean game in the first half, which resulted in a quick 19 points and proved too much for Walker (1-7) to answer.

Razon Keller lead his team with 200 yards rushing tonight to help Destrehan to dial in and defeat a Hahnville team that got off to an excellent start. The Wildcats put up 29 points in the second half to win it 36-23.
