Putnam City opened 6A-I District 2 play at Putnam City Stadium Friday night with their defense firing on all cylinders to defeat the Edmond North Huskies 14-7.
The Booker T. Washington Hornets offense and defense kept the Sand Spring Sandites from scoring any points. In the second quarter, Booker T. steadily pulled away and at end of the game the final score was 49-0.
The Midwest City Bombers and the Putnam City North Panthers came into Friday’s game undefeated in 6A II, District 1, but they end the night with matching 6-1 records as Midwest City wins the day 35-14.
Both the Verdigris Cardinals and the Holland Hall Dutch were undefeated when they met at Holland Hall’s Hardesty Field to try to stake their claim on first place in 3A District 4.
The Dutch came out on top, moving one step closer to the gold ball with a 52-7 victory.
